THE LIMITS OF CONTROL

ジム・ジャームッシュ監督の最新作「THE LIMITS OF CONTROL」を観てきた。

兎に角、イザック・ド・バンコレ演じる主人公の殺し屋はほとんど話さない。彼は誰かを殺しにスペインまできたのだが、それ以外は何もかも不明。ターゲットに近づくため（多分）か、決まった方法で様々な人間に会い、情報を（多分）得る。

情報を与える人間達に何を言われても、ほとんど話さないイザックくん。
その押し黙り方はほぼ完璧、自然と彼らが話し続けることになる。

物語は主人公と情報を与える人間との会話を主軸にすすむが、ジム・ジャームッシュの他の作品「ナイト・オン・ザ・プラネット」や「Coffee and Cigarettes」のような会話を楽しむ軽妙さは無い。情報を与える人間達の話しは、取り留めも無いが同時に暗示めいている。それが作品にある種の重苦しさ、悪い夢の続きのような印象を与えている。

ちなみに、恐ろしく単調なため映画館で３度ほど寝てしまった。
しかし、それでも良い映画だと言える不思議な映画だ。

I watched Jim Jarmusch's new film [THE LIMITS OF CONTROL].

It stars Isaach De BankoléThe as a leading character who was an assassin. He hardly talks. Although he comes to Spain to kill somebody, there are everything has remained mystery apart from his assassination. He met various people in a certain way to get information (maybe) so that he approaches his target (maybe).

Although people who gives Mr. Issach information talks to him, he rarely talks to them. His way of shutting up is almost perfect. Therefore, people keep talking to him naturally.

It is thus that conversations between the assassin and the people give information is given a key part in the story progress. But we can not enjoy free and witty conversations from Jim Jarmusch's other films, like [Night on Earth] or [Coffee and Cigarettes]. Stories from the people give information gives an oppressive atmosphere and impress us something like a continuation of nightmare.

By the way, this film was monotony so that I fell asleep three times in the cinema. However, [THE LIMITS OF CONTROL] is strange film, because I still say this film is good.
