サマーウォーズ Summer Wars

「サマーウォーズ」を観てきた。

「時をかける少女」の監督細田守の細田守の最新作。

多少のご都合主義はご愛嬌、そんなものは気にしても仕方が無いほど、
前作同様、テンポ良く物語が進む。

そして、そのテンポを止めるのも厭わない絵による”静”の演出も健在。
この”静”の演出が感動を誘う。

アニメでは言葉による演出は重要ではない。細田守はそれを良く知ってると思う。


I watched [Summer Wars].

The director of [The Girl Who Leapt Through Time] Mamoru Hosoda directed this film.

I could find out the things progressed too luckily in the story, but it was not necessary to think about such a small thing. The story progressed speedily without stagnation of the story, as much as his previous work [The Girl Who Leapt Through Time] .

In addition, Hosoda used his direction invited audience to "silence", which almost stopped the story itself.
He did not mind doing that. This direction impressed audience effectively.

Direction by means of words is not so important in Animation.
Hosoda Mamoru knows it.

1Q84

村上春樹「1Q84」読了。

「1Q84」の人に感想を問われれば、良かったと答える。
（ただ、どこかひっかかるところも無いわけではない。）

Q 本当に？
A 楽しんだ、まったく久しぶりに村上春樹の世界に浸った。

Q 表現が冗長過ぎる、と思う箇所があったでしょう?
A 確かに。でも、気になる程でもなく、無ければ無いで物足りない。

Q 二つの物語が平行して進行するスタイル、今までもあったよね？
A 確かに目新しいものでは無い。しかし、寄り添おうとする二人の主人公の心に合わせて、二つの物語がクロスし、リンクして「1Q84」の世界を形づくっていく様は素晴らしい。

Q 学生運動、極左テロ、カルト、実際のモチーフを集めて作りました、陳腐じゃないか？
A 村上春樹は一定の距離感をもって同時代を描いてきた。また近年は一連のオウム真理教事件のノンフィクションを通し、同時代によりコミットメントしようとしている。彼は「モチーフを寄せ集めるのが目的で「1Q84」を発表したのではない。そこに通底するものを見つめようとして、敢えてこれらのモチーフを描いている。

Q この長い物語は突如として終わる。しかし多くの人がまだ終わってない、必ず続編があると言う。要はみんな納得してないのだ。最後をどう思う？
A 正直、わからない。

この「1Q84」は僕に安易な答えをくれない。
それこそが僕が読書にもとめることなのである。

I finished reading [1Q84] by Haruki Murakami.

If somebody asks me that I think [1Q84] is interesting novel, I will answer "Yes".
(But I am not very sure it is true...)

Q: Did you really enjoy [1Q84]?
A: Yes. I did enjoy Haruki Murakami's world after a bit long interval.

Q: Did you find out needlessly wordy or repetitive in expression in this novel?
A: Indeed it was true, but I did not notice it too much. If these expression missed I would feel that something is lacking in this novel.

Q: Two stories progress in parallel, as his novel often does. It is the same style of some of his previous works, isn't it?
A: Yes. It is not new style. But the two stories crosses and links each other as following two leading character's mind want to close together, which shapes the world of [1Q84]. It is brilliant, I think.

Q: Student activism, far left terrorism and cult. Murakami put together these motifs. It is cheap and trite, isn't it?
A: Muarakami has described contemporary life with a sense　of a certain distance. And also he tried to make a commitment to society more than before via his recent non-fiction works about Aum shinrikyo incidents. He did not intend to write [1Q84] to collect these motifs in his novel. He eagerly tries to see the common thing from the bottom of our society so that he dares to describe these motifs in his novel.

Q: It seems [1Q84] comes sudden end. But a lot of readers say the story has not been finished yet, a sequel will be published. I reckon everybody has not been convinced the end of [1Q84]. How do you think about the end of the story?
A: Honestly speaking, I don't know what's kind of comment I should give.

[1Q84] doesn't give me an easy answer. This is what I want to from reading.
